Waffles Recipe with Colours

Which is the best breakfast food in the entire world? While some would say that staring your day with a delicious bunch of waffles is unhealthy and really “un-diety”, I am more of a traditionalist and believe that every once in a while, one can stray from the beaten path and indulge in some fluffy, delicious, cream-covered waffles.

As simple as waffles are to make with some imagination they can be turned into a real threat for the eye and for your belly, too. Whether you make them for breakfast, brunch, other special occasions or serve them as a dessert, you can always count on them to be your secret weapon to charm guests. The best part – they are extremely easy to make!

Here is a list of all the ingredients you need:

Dry Ingrediens:

  • 1 ¾ teacups of all-purpose flour;
  • ½ tbsp. salt;
  • 1 tbsp. sugar;
  • ½ tbps. ground cinnamon (optional);
  • ½ tbsp. vanilla extract (optional);

Liquid Ingredients:

  • ½ cup vegetable oil;
  • 1 ¾ teacups milk;
  • 3 eggs;
  • gel food colouring (personally, I prefer it to other types)

How to make the waffles with colouring:

Begin by mixing the dry and the liquid ingredients in separate bowls. When both mixtures look homogeneous, you can combine them together. Be careful not to overmix them! It is high time to switch the waffle maker on. Once the indicator shows that the device has reached the highest temperature, spray its surface with some cooking spray and you can make the first waffle. Use it as a test subject to see if the waffles are sticking to the waffle maker.

If you want to make colourful waffles, you need to divide the waffle mixture into batches in different bowls and add various food colours. Pour the coloured mixtures one by one, starting from the outer side, and work your way to the middle.

Once you are all set, you can use strawberries, whipped cream and other dessert decorations to make the waffles even more appealing and delicious-looking.

    Hey! I just wanted to ask if you ever have any trouble with hackers?

    My last blog (wordpress) was hacked and I ended up losing many months of hard work due to no backup.
    Do you have any solutions to protect against hackers?

    • Margaret Swanton says:

      Hi Magda,

      We haven’t had any problems with hackers recently, and I can’t give you any specific tips how to protect yourself against them. However, I could suggest that you apply a sophisticated or at least some kind of back up plan. I, for once, keep all our posts dated and categorized on a flash drive – just in case we loose any data.

      I hope you manage to retrieve your posts.

      Wish you all the best,

      Margaret :)
